The European Joint Doctorate Programme urbanHist | 20th Century European Urbanism announces 4 PhD positions running for 36 months between 2017 and 2020.
UrbanHist is an integrated research and doctorate programme funded by the European Union in the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action. It aims to develop and sustainably promote a joint understanding of 20th century European Urbanism. UrbanHist offers a unique opportunity to 15 early stage researches to investigate various topics related to comprehensive studies on the history of european urbanism in the twentieth century. The 15 early stage researchers will receive multidisciplinary training from high-profile academics and practitioners and will be awarded a double degree of two of the four universities. For the duration of 36 months, they will be employed at the hosting university. The application process for 4 of these 15 positions is starting now.

Please note: in the Horizon 2020 European Joint Doctorates, two main conditions apply:
- the programme addresses only early stage researchers, which means within the first four years (full-time equivalent) of research activity, including the period of research training. Researchers who are already holding a doctoral degree are not eligible.
- the European transnational mobility policy applies: researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country they apply to for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment.
